Suggestion for Animated Map
Hey man. First of all, thank you for creating an animated version of the map. May I just suggest including time stamps for each frame in your subsequent versions? There was a discussion on the talk page that was archived, but the consensus was that the main map shouldn't have time stamps, while the animated version should, since there are multiple frames for any single given day. -- Sentimex (talk) 17:22, 4 March 2022 (UTC)
- @Sentimex: that is part of what I am working on, in addition to revising the maps so that they are more historically accurate vs just using subsequyent versions. Look at the talk page of the animated map for more info. MaitreyaVaruna (talk) 20:52, 4 March 2022 (UTC)
- @MaitreyaVaruna I see. Again, thanks a bunch for all your work! -- Sentimex (talk) 05:31, 5 March 2022 (UTC)
Thank you so much for the animated map. It well illustrates the overreach by Putin. And the fight the people of Ukranine are putting up. Is it possible to slow the animation or give a speed control to users? I am viewing with an Apple iPad Pro 10.5", about 5 years old. I think it would be ideal to be able to step frame by frame, giving a better chance to absorb detail. There is so much information there. Your animation is a very good companion to print media and television news for me here in the USA. Thank you again. — Neonorange (talk) 07:55, 7 March 2022 (UTC) —

Thanks for uploading File:2022 Russian Invasion of Ukraine animated.gif. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.
If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.) If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there. Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you. |

Serapis Vatican Statue is a statue of the Nile.
Hi, Immanuelle. Your (good) photo File:Serapis Vatican Statue.jpg isn't of the Egyptian deity. It's the allegory of the Nile River, a statue exhibitet in the "New Wing" of the Chiaramonti Museum in the Vatican Museum. In Wikimedia Commons I moved the files in the Category:The Nile, inv. 2300 and deleted it from the Category "Serapis". I think you should request the correction of the name of the file. In Wikipedia the file has been used in the article "Serapis" among images of the "true" Serapis. But I dont'n know how to remedy the error. Do you know how to do it? Thanks for your attention. Fabrizio Garrisi (talk) 23:03, 10 October 2022 (UTC)
- @Fabrizio Garrisi thank you for the attention, I removed it from the article and am going to request a rename, I did it in the past with another file I uploaded too Immanuelle 💗 (please tag me) 23:29, 10 October 2022 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:Immanuelle.png. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own).
