Usage[edit]
{{Interval
| name=Major third
| letter=E
| just ratio=5:4
| just cents=386.31
| equal ratio=4/12
| equal cents=400
| bend=79,59
| limit=5
}}
approximately produces:
A letter name, letter, limit, and all ratios and cents are not required.
- name=Generic interval (fifth) and quality (perfect), as text ("Perfect fifth")
- letter=letter spelling of the interval above C, as letter with accidentals ("G")
- notation=Method of notation used for the letter spelling; adds the file to the category for that method
- limit=prime limit, as a number (Pythagorean = "3"); adds the file to the category for that limit
- just ratio=interval ratio in just intonation, any form ("3/2" = "1.5")
- just cents=cent value in just intonation ("701.96")
- equal ratio=interval ratio in equal temperament, in the form of numbers of steps in the interval over the number of steps in the temperament (7 semitones/12-tet = "7/12")
- equal cents=cent value in equal temperament ("700")
- (ratio=interval ratio (3/2); tempered intervals such as 3:2÷(81:80)1/4 require this parameter rather than "equal ratio")
- (cents=cent value (696.58); to accompany the "ratio" parameter)
- bend=x and a y value (x,y); 0,64 = no pitch bend. See en:Help:Sibelius#MIDI pitch bend.
If neither "just ratio", "just ratio", nor "ratio" are supplied, the file is added to Category:Intervals missing ratios. If neither "just cents", "just cents", nor "cents" are supplied, the file is added to Category:Intervals missing cent values. If "just ratio" or "just cents" are supplied but a limit is not, the file is added to Category:Intervals missing limits.
