Hi Electionworld, wunderbare Arbeit, die Du hier machst, ich hab noch eine wichtige Ergänzung. Endlich ne ordentliche Vorlage für die Landkreise deutschlandweit als SVG und PNG. Schau mal hier. Außerdem hab ich noch zwei thematische Karten von mir anzubieten, die sich auf Deutschland beziehen: (hier und hier) Ich will Deine Ordnung nicht durcheinaderbringen, daher hier nur die Links. Atlas column format

04-Sep-2007: Analogous to a large-size Atlas book, the Wikimedia Atlas was created (in March 2007) for very-wide screens; however, many users have 800x600 screen resolution, so column-size has been changed to allow custom column width ("atlas_label_width") for each nation's Atlas article. Many foreign languages have words about 30% longer than English words, so column width can be changed to improve text-wrapping of longer words. Along with narrow column labels, the "Template:Atlas-country" has been changed to allow setting labels for atlas_label_language (which defaults to "Major language(s)") and atlas_label_religion. For example, a short label could be set by using "atlas_label_religion = Religions" (rather than having the default label "Major religion(s)"). Split for other German countries

02-Nov-2007: The article "Atlas of Germany" has grown to over 50kb of article text, pushing the limits of browsers running multiple windows. I will split the article, creating "Atlas of German countries" as a logical offshoot, and allow more space for information about recent German maps, such as roadmaps which could be added. The size problem isn't just the 50kb-file, and the dozens of large maps displayed, the problem is also the hundreds of templates included which require time to format during edit-previews. A file of just 50kb of flat text would not be so much of a problem, but as 50kb of hundreds of template transclusions, the Atlas-of-Germany article has been unmanageable, resulting in mismatched closing-braces "}}" which wouldn't be noticed unless wading through the whole article with all the massive maps, and I hope I can fix the unclosed "}}" once the article has been split into 2 semi-massive articles. -Wikid77 02:12, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

Bugfixes November 2007

02-Nov-2007: I have completed bugfixes for the article "Atlas of Germany" by:

• removed the extra closing "}}" near line 741, added 6 months ago at 11:08, 14-May-2007;
• fixed the extra "}}" after each flag-icon, generated from Template:List-flags since 29May07, when the border-template was skipped (by using image-link borders "[Image:..|border]]"), but the "}}" was accidentally left after the image-link;
• reduced article file-size from 50kb to 40kb by removing 2 thousand blank-spaces and splitting other-countries maps into new article "Atlas of German countries".

Some image-links might be missing, but I'll leave those links for others to update/remove for their related maps. -Wikid77 06:07, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

Prussia?

How about an Atlas of Prussia focussing on the historic lands East of Oder-Neisse? The Template:Atlas-end has "Former countries: Austria-Hungary - Byzantine Empire - Caliphate - Czechoslovakia - Frankish Empire - Inca Empire - Macedonian Empire - Roman Empire - Soviet Union - Yugoslavia, so Prussia would fit in there I think, as Prussia was officially dissolved in 1947. Or is getting blamed for two World Wars not enough to warrant notablity? --Matthead 17:38, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

I think the 1630 map of the empire is not correct. The Netherlands had declared themselves independent from Spain at the time. They were not part of the German Empire.
