Description
English: Views of Messier 87's galactic core, wide-field and close-up, taken by the Chandra X-ray Observatory's Advanced CCD Imaging Spectrometer (ACIS). The wide-field image is 11 arcminutes (190,000 light years) across, while the close-up image is 1.75 arcminutes (25,000 light years) across.
