| Description |
English: Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen presented the exhibition ‘Masterpiece or Copy - Anthonie van Dijck’ from 5 December 2009 until 14 February 2010. The exhibition presented two paintings with an identical composition depicting Saint Jerome with an angel: one version from the collection of Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen and one version from the Nationalmuseum in Stockholm.
Images and animations were projected directly onto the painting surfaces and onto the wall in between. A voice-over could be heard, explaining the art historical research of the paintings. This multimedia presentation has been documented in a video, so that the story of the two identical Van Dycks can still be told. Nederlands: De tentoonstelling ‘Meesterwerk of kopie. Anthonie van Dijck’ was van 5 december 2009 t/m 14 februari 2010 te zien in Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen. In de tentoonstelling hingen twee schilderijen met precies dezelfde voorstelling - de Heilige Hieronymus met een engel - naast elkaar: een versie uit de collectie van Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen (online collectie) en een versie uit de collectie van het Nationalmuseum in Stockholm.
Op deze schilderijen, en op de muur er tussen, werden beelden en animaties geprojecteerd. Uit de luidsprekers klonk een toelichting op het kunsthistorisch onderzoek dat naar de twee schilderijen was uitgevoerd. Van de multimediapresentatie in deze tentoonstelling is een registratie gemaakt, zodat het verhaal van de twee identieke Van Dijcks ook nu nog verteld kan worden. |
