English: Un ejemplo de una supernova descubierta por el Estudio de Energía Oscura dentro del campo cubierto por uno de los detectores individuales de la Cámara de Energía Oscura. La supernova explotó en una galaxia espiral con un corrimiento al rojo de 0,04528, lo que corresponde a un tiempo de viaje de la luz equivalente a 0,6 mil millones de años. En comparación, el cuásar a la derecha tiene un corrimiento al rojo de 3,979 y un tiempo de viaje de la luz de 11,5 mil millones de años.
