English: LIBI_00019_00560; This item is an albumen carte-de-visite (card-mounted photograph) of Brigadier General George A. Custer in long bust view and wearing his military uniform. The photograph is 2 × 3 1/4" (2 3/8 × 4" mounted). As noted on page 25 of D. Mark Katz's book, the photograph was produced circa 1864 by Matthew B. Brady. The image is mounted upside down on the card and is poorly trimmed. The photographer's stamp is printed on the verso.Note: "Box 7" handwritten on the verso.
