Wiki Loves Monuments 2016 in Slovakia is a worldwide photo contest for monuments and cultural heritage buildings. Wikimedia SK started the first round of Wiki Loves Monuments in 2012. This year marks the fifth time for the international competition in Slovakia with the support of the Monuments Board of the Slovak Republic.

Everyone is welcome to get involved, whether as a participant (photographer). The main competition website (for competitors) is at: pamiatky.blog.wikimedia.sk or www.wikimedia.sk.

The Jury will evaluate these criteria:

  • The technical and aesthetic quality of the photos
  • The original composition of the photos
  • The encyclopedic value for Wikipedia

Photographers must upload their photos to commons.wikimedia.org using the upload Wizard or the {{Wiki Loves Monuments 2016|sk}} template before 30 September 2016. Photos uploaded to Commons later, can not be accepted. You can find the register of the Slovak monuments at www.pamiatky.sk or https://sk.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kategória:Kultúrne_pamiatky_na_Slovensku.
