Untitled[edit]

I am interested in your portrait of Maria Malibran which is attributed to an unknown British artist, c. 1820. There is evidence that she was painted by Frederick Hurlstone (1800-69), the first President of the Royal Society of British Artists, and so I wonder if he is the artist in question? I also wonder how it comes to be known that the picture on Wikipedia is by a British artist if that person's identity is unknown?
