Is there a special reason to have a category photographs as most of Commons files are fotographs? Is it a good suggestion to recategorise all the files? Earlier discussed? --Stunteltje (talk) 08:49, 28 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Agree All files on Commons are photographs. This category is a nonsense. Jack ma (talk) 15:25, 1 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The category only makes sense if it is exclusively a container category for all the other "photographs of foo" categories. Actually, the files at the commons are digital representations of images, which includes digital photographs of paintings, stored as .jpg's and rendered on computer screens. there arent any ACTUAL photographs at the commons, unless there is a warehouse holding some polaroids:)Mercurywoodrose (talk) 03:00, 26 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
