The Flash Avenger The Flash Avenger was originally created by union organiser John "Jock" McCail and appeared in Dynamic Thrills Comics. For a four page comic. About a wealthy socialite. Who uses his money and genius to make an assortment of gadgets. To fight a criminal plot to capture Englands War Minister and replace him with a double. He was later used by Alan Moore. As a relatively minor character. In The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen Tempest. Where he’s a member of the Seven Stars. A team of Public Domain characters. All originally made by different publishers. David Gaunt was a wealthy playboy and son of Sir Henry and Lady Arrhythmia Gaunt. While he and his parents were returning from a servant-auction, they came across a beggar who asked for money. David's father became offended and attacked the beggar. David was actually shocked over the fact that "shabby" working-class people actually existed. In 1951, David decided to flaunt his superiority over both criminal and working classes as The Flash Avenger. In 1956, David married Gail Garrity and they have a son named Henry after his father. But due to his heroic lifestyle, he barely saw his wife and son. After the disbandment of the Seven Stars, David Gaunt died of lung cancer in 1968 and is interred in Highgate Cemetery. Atom Mudman Bezecny also made a mediocre novella. Called The New Adventures of The Flash Avenger. Like Alan Moore Atom used The Flash Avenger as a vehicle to push communistic ideas. But in a different way. Her David Gaunt along with his sister. Donated their fortunes to the London government. Dismantling all of their assets and family manor. Stating “You know, some of those Yank crime fighters horde their fortunes-their South American gold and whatnot. And their critics are dismissed as Marxists..." "We will do better. The Flash Avenger and The Scarlet are heroes of the 1950s; not the War or the Depression. We're from tomorrow. And even if we have to fight our own decade, even if our hope and our justice is unique-we'll prevail. And those we serve will prevail." This has an unrealistic successful effect of lowering crime 7%. It is never explained how they are able to continue their super hero lives after this. And their older brother Jack Gaunt. Is little more than a cartoonishly evil villain. Only interested in money. And described as looking like he couldn’t overshadow a mouse. The Flash Avengers Arsenal A Television screen that lets his see things from miles away. Special Spring Shoes that let him jump super high. Fog Bombs that release a blinding smoke. Radar Goggles that let him see everything clearly. The Avenger’s car is described as powerful. Suggesting it may have advanced technology. A Super Jet Plane that flies at incredible speeds. It is mentioned as having anti-gravity technology. And has bombs capable of blowing submarines to the surface.
