English: First Methodist Episcopal Church, also known as the "White Church" (in contrast to the Methodist Protestant "Brown Church"), southwest corner of Second and Columbia, Seattle, Washington, U.S., 1855-1887. Seattle's first church. Replaced at that location by the Boston Block; the congregation moved to an elegant new church building nearby. The original church building church was moved to 213 Cherry Street, with the former front door facing the back. for about a decade the building served as a gambling house, saloon, and restaurant; torn down at the beginning of March 1898 to make way for John Cort's Grand Opera House; the exterior of the latter is still extant 2022, with a multi-story parking garage inside.
