Description
English: Wreath Flowers of Morawa in Western Australia. Unique to WA in narrow areas East of Kalbarri to East of Wulain. Usually grows in sandy gravel disturbed soils, and only after heavy rains and bush fires. Flowers (pink , yellow and white) appear at the tip of radiant succulent branches which grow to 1 m diameter in late winter and early spring. Discovered by the French botanist Jean Babtiste Lechenault in an expedition (1800-1803) in WA. The botanical name for the plant is Lechenaulti Merchanta (Greek for large flower).
