Description
English: In Uturu, it is tradition for men to not marry women from Ope, Ubaha, Ihube, Umuokpara, Umuka, Umuinem, Umunna, Okwe, Ogii, and Umulolo in Okigwe IMO State. The reason behind this strict rule in the case of Umulolo, is that the founder of Umulolo was originally an Uturu wife, who later settled in Umulolo.

As for the other nine places mentioned, the reasons why Uturu men are not allowed to marry from there are currently uncertain. Different stories exist, but we cannot confirm the exact reasons at this time.

Regardless of one's religious beliefs, if you are a man from Uturu, it is forbidden for you to marry someone from these places. However, men from these mentioned places can marry women from Uturu without any restrictions.

In the event that a woman from any of these places hides her true origin and you unknowingly marry her, once the truth is discovered, the marriage will be annulled. Elders will then perform purification rituals to appease Ala
