Description
Français : extrait d'une carte de lille, montrant le canal de la Tortue décrit sur la carte par 4 lignes oranges parallèles et dénommé 'Rigole dessèchement du marais de la Deûle' ; ici : quartier de Canteleu, 1930. La Tortue a été creusée entre 1859 et 1864 sur 14 communes de la Haute Deûle, puis géré par une « commission d’entretien des marais de la Haute Deûle » constituée des propriétaires riverains (créé en 1866. Les fonctions de ce syndicat sont reprises par un SIVOM en 1992.
