BUCKINGHAM LINCOLN MEMORIAL This magnificent tribute to the Great Emancipator is situatedin Potomac Park. With its reflecting pool and beautifulgrounds, it is one of the greatest sights of the National Capital.If you are interested in symbolism, two views will especiallyinterest you. The one showing the Washington Monument inthe background—the other looking through the colonnade tothe white pillars of Robert E. Lees home—in the hills of Vir-ginia across the Potomac.

<p asio somes ow. SUPREME COURT BUILDING This magnificent structure was built espe-cially to house the United States SupremeCourt — at a cost of $9,000,000. It is part ofthe building plan, but is located outsidethe triangle — just across the street from theFoiger Shakespeare Memorial Library atEast Capitol and Second Streets. THE FEDERAL TRIANGLEThe greatest single building program in the history of the world is being car-ried on in this 70-acre plot shaped like a triangle. When completed it willrepresent an investment of over $200,000,000. Under the Federal buildingprogram the Triangle area will eventually contain all the Government officebuildings, including parks and parkways. The Department of Commerce unitoccupies the base of the Triangle and covers eight acres. It is the largest officebuilding in the world and was erected at a cost of $17,500,000.
