English: Schematics of method for preparation of keratinocyte cell spheroid clusteroids with steps labelled A-D. A shows the DEX phase containing cells and the PEO phase containing whey protein particles. B shows post-emulsification keratinocyte cells encapsulated in a dextran-PEO water-in-water emulsion template stabilised by whey protein particles. C shows the additional PEO added to efflux the water from the DEX phase, causing osmotic shrinking of the cell-rich dextran droplets represented by arrows on the droplet pointing outwards indicating the direction of water movement from the droplet into the PEO phase. D shows the breaking of the emulsion by dilution with culture media, dispersing the whey protein particle template stabilisers and isolating the spheroid clusteroids. |
