English: Painting by Roger Winter, Columbus Avenue, (oil on linen, 52” x 60”, 2001). The image illustrates a realistic mode of expression Roger Winter began exploring early in his career and developed further after moving to New York City in 2000, a body of work focused on the urban landscape. Columbus Avenue depicts superimposed layers of reflections including a woman in sunglasses, a vehicle, and buildings in a busy street scene. This painting and similar works have been exhibited in prominent galleries and museums in the United States, discussed in a monograph and numerous press publications, and many have been acquired by major museums and prominent corporate and private collections. |
