[edit]DescriptionPrimary Mirror Segment Assembly Alignment Installation Fixture (8202852901).jpg |
Pictured is hardware for the James Webb Space Telescope. In the foreground is the Primary Mirror Segment Assembly (PMSA) Alignment Installation Fixture (PAIF). The PAIF is holding a mass simulator of a primary mirror segment. In the background is a black latticed structure - this is the Backplane Structure Test Article (BSTA). The PAIF will eventually be used to install the flight mirror segments on the flight backplane structure.
