Description
Italiano: I tre preparati microscopici, allestiti dallo zoologo Pietro Marchi nel 1871 per illustrare alcune fasi dello sviluppo migratorio, completamente parassitario, della Spiroptera obtusa Rudolphi, 1819, 1819 quando è ospite della larva del Tenebrio molitor Linnaeus, 1758.

Le uova del nematode, emesse con gli escrementi da un esemplare infetto del genere Mus Linnaeus, 1758, vengono ingerite dalle larve del T. molitor assieme alla farina in cui abitano e di cui si nutrono. Nel canale digerente della larva del T. molitor le uova si schiudono liberando gli embrioni dell’endoparassita che si vanno ad incistare nella massa adiposa che circonda il tubo digerente del coleottero trasformandosi in larve.
