La línea de los ápsides correspondiente al eje mayor (2a) de la elipse contiene el AFELIO y el PERIHELIO, la distancia más lejana y más cercana al Sol, ambos puntos ubicados en los extremos de tal línea. Esta línea de los ápsides se mueve en sentido directo sobre la Eclíptica (de Oeste a Este, en la figura en sentido inverso a las agujas del reloj), en aproximadamente 11,5” de arco de grado por año y da una vuelta completa sobre la órbita terrestre en 112.695,65 años. Dentro de 56.347,82 años el perihelio ocurrirá en una fecha cercana al 4 de Julio. Este movimiento ocurre en toda elipse (órbita) de un planeta, cometa o asteroide. |
