Looks artificial but it's real - Everlasting Flowers

Summary[edit]

Description
English: Most of the Filipinos will be reminded of Baguio City if they saw leis of everlasting flowers because it was abundant on the area that it was proposed to become the official flower of the city. Everlasting is an appropriate term for the strawflowers because once picked and dried it can last up to a year , others reported that their everlasting garland last up to 2 years. It does look artificial or like plastic flowers because of its shiny and colorful texture. Due to its longevity, it became a favorite altar flower. In the old times, this flower is also used as garland for honor students during graduations, as a welcoming leis for tourists or special guests on events, decorations on wedding ceremonies and reception areas and many more. Today there is a declining usage of this flower perhaps because there are other more types of flowers readily available on the market Even though Filipinos are not utilizing this flower as much as before, it still remains visible to the public and will continue to stay because of its everlasting and captivating beauty.
