Summary[edit]
| Description |
English: A dancer was dressing up as Goddess Durga, the most revered female Goddess in Hindu mythology before the act. The dancer was male who would perform Goddess Durga, although there are many female characters portrayed during the dance routines the dancers are always male. " Chhau dance", is a semi classical Indian dance with martial, tribal and folk traditions, with origins in the eastern Indian states of Jharkhand, West Bengal & Odisha. As has been the tradition male performers only perform Chhau.
