Summary[edit]
DescriptionMorse electromagnetic telegraph.jpg |
English: It is the first system using electricity to transmit information remotely. The idea was in the air and the inventor had to spend a lot of energy to establish the primacy of his invention. Note that earth was used as a return conductor, which caused crosstalk problems.
Morse code was already optimized to minimize the number of signs based on the frequency of letters in the English language. Before the end of the 19th century, the telegraph connected all the industrialized nations of the world and in particular the member states of the Commonwealth. And submarine cables had already been deployed in most oceans
