Description
Svenska: Runt Falköping finns ett av Europas tätaste gånggriftsområde, i Karleby socken finns ett stort antal, varav Sveriges största med beteckningen ”Karleby 58”, gravkammarens längd är cirka 17 meter, stenhällarna som täcker den och andra gånggrifter väger flera ton. Gånggrifterna varav cirka 250 i Falbygden uppfördes för drygt 5000 år sedan och är äldre än Egyptens pyramider. De hade begravningsplatser för upp emot ett par hundra individer. På bilden ses en landskapsmodell över en parti av Karleby med gånggrifter uppe på kalkstensplatån och boplatser längre ner i sluttningen. Landskapsmodellen ingår i Falbygdens museums basutställning "Forntid på Falbygden" byggd 1994. Landskapsmodellen är byggd våren 1994 av Lotta Canow och Ingrid Olson efter anvisningar av Gunnar Creutz. Bilden är fotograferad av Harri Blomberg, den 13 april 2006.
