Milky Way 360-degree hemispheres rendering from Gaia EDR3 data with foreground (within 3kpc) stars removed

Summary[edit]

Description
English: This image was rendered by bsrender (https://github.com/kevinloch/bsrender) using the star records from the Gaia EDR3 dataset (https://www.cosmos.esa.int/web/gaia/earlydr3). Foreground stars within 3kpc have been removed. Left hemisphere is facing the galactic center, right hemisphere is facing the galactic anticancer. Color saturation has been increased 4x and white balance was set to 4200K. Original 32000x16000 resolution rednering has been scaled down to 8k. Note: 3kpc minimum render distance is based on EDR3 parallax data which has significant uncertainty at that distance scale.
