Deutsch: Lüftungsmaschine im Limonistollen. Der Limonistollen, auch Limonikeller genannt, befindet sich im Bauernberg im Stadtteil Froschberg der Stadt Linz in Oberösterreich. Teile des Stollens stammen aus der Vorkriegszeit. Ab 1942 wurde der Stollen von Zwangsarbeitern (KZ-Häftlinge) mittels Spitzhacke und Vorschlaghammer manuell weiter in den Sandstein getrieben und mit Ziegeln ausgekleidet. Er diente der Linzer Stadtbevölkerung während der Bombenangriffe als Luftschutzbunker und war für 11.000 Personen ausgerichtet. Der Stollen besteht aus einem Hauptgang und aus Nebengängen. Der Haupteingang befindet sich nahe der Kreuzung Roseggerstraße/Limonigasse und verläuft von dort in südliche und westliche Richtung. Der Limonistollen war sehr gut ausgestattet. Er verfügte über eine gute Lüftung, über sanitäre Anlagen, eine Rot-Kreuz- und eine Hebammenstation. Er kann heute ausschließlich im Rahmen offizieller Führungen (Austria Guides) in Teilen besichtigt werden. English: Ventilation machine. The Limonistollen, also called Limonikeller, is located in the Bauernberg (hill) in the district Froschberg in the city of Linz in Upper Austria. Parts of the gallery/tunnel are from the pre-war period. Beginning in 1942 the gallery was further driven by pickaxe and sledgehammer manually into the sandstone and lined with bricks. (Forced labor, done by concentration camp inmates). The Limonistollen served the City of Linz population as an air raid shelter and was designed for 11,000 people. The tunnel consists of a main course and of secondary passages. The main entrance is located near the intersection Roseggerstraße / Limonigasse. From there the tunnel goes in a southerly and westerly direction. The Limonistollen was very well equipped with good ventilation, sanitary facilities, a Red Cross station and a midwife station. It can now be visited only by official guided tours (Austria Guides) in parts. |
