Description |
The Jackson Street Regrade took place between 1907 and 1909. The top photo shows King Street and Union Railroad Stations in the foreground. The bottom photo shows Holy Names Academy at the top of the hill in the center the South School at the top of hill on the right. Transcribed from postcard: "To-day: Jackson Street, Seattle. Yesterday: Jackson Street in 1902. The Hill at the rear has been entirely leveled." Upper view (by Frank Nowell) is from the tower of King Street Station.
