Summary[edit]

Description
English: This graphic shows the effects of layering rocks or gravel at the bottom of a plant container or flower pot. The hard, impermeable surfaces of the rocks will raise the water table, thereby raising the location of the wettest soil in the pot. This can drown roots and lead to root rot, impacting the health of the plant.
