Français : Illustration, par l'expérience du bâton lesté, de l'erreur consistant à penser que le côté lourd d'un bâton entraîne ce bâton plus vite vers le bas que le côté plus léger. Abandonné à lui-même, ce bâton lesté tombe verticalement vers le sol (au moins dans la première seconde où les efforts aérodynamiques sont négligeables. On corrige avec cette expérience notre intuition consistant à penser que le poids du haut d'une fusée fait basculer la fusée lors de son décollage. Les lois de la physique indiquent que toutes les parties du bâton (ou de la fusée) tendent à tomber à la même vitesse, qu'elles soient lourdes ou légères. |
