日本語: 関数の一様連続性とは、出力誤差の上限 ε がどんなに小さい値で要求されても、入力誤差の上限 δ を適切に定めることができて、どの点においても要求を達成できることである。このアニメーションではまず ε が要求され、次いでそれに対する適切な δ が提示される。
(実際、この図のグラフは2次関数のグラフを周期的に上下反転させながら繋げて作成したものであるが、どれだけ小さい ε に対しても δ を f(δ/2) = f(0) - ε/2 となるように定めることで一様連続性の条件を満たすようになっている。) |
