Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The making of The Midpoint. World famous hyperrealist artist Carole Feuerman at her New York studio in 2016 working with French-Mexican actress Yadira Pascault Orozco during the casting process to create "The Midpoint" a hand-patinated hyperrealist sculpture.

Feuerman and Pascault Orozco met at the opening of Feuerman's Los Angeles exhibit, Perceptions, in July of 2016. Feuerman then invited Yadira Pascault Orozco out to New York the following week to begin a week-long casting process that would create elements of the sculpture entitled The Midpoint created in Yadira Pascault Orozco's likeness.

The sculpture was finished in 2017 and debuted at the 57th International Art Exhibition, la Biennale di Venezia, also in 2017. In late 2019, the mayor of Tübingen (Germany), Boris Palmer, chose The Midpoint to appear

the “Musée Imaginaire” by SWR2 Hölderlinturm on shore of The Neckar river. Causing a heated dispute over the work between the arts commission and members of the community.
