Title
Bronze Age flint blade (drawing)
Description
English: Flint blade or knife flake, lozenge-shaped in plan and section and semi-circular in profile. The proximal end and lateral margins have been bifacially retouched. Towards the distal end of the dorsal face, running along the left edge, are the remains of a strip of cortex, suggesting that this is a secondary flake. The dorsal face preserves an area of smooth conchoidal fractures rippling away from the proximal end.
The flint is a mottled light to dark gray colour, probably made from a local beach pebble, and the length to breadth ratio is about 2:1.

Bond illustrates a similar example from Bradley (1970) on page 145, Fig.5.131, No.28, which is dated to the Beaker Period.
