Title
Bronze Age chisel (drawing)
Description
English: Burnt and warped fragment of copper-alloy implement with very degraded lumpy surface. The shape suggests a square-sectioned shaft with two concave sides, which broaden below the shoulder to a break. Dark green/black patina with some paler green corrosion where the surface has broken away. Some recent damage to shoulder. Possibly from a lugged chisel/tracer of late Early Bronze Age to Late Bronze Age; compare examples from Freckenham (FRK 018) and Barton Mills (sf425/3579). Surviving length 34 mm, width of tang 7 mm, surviving width at blade break 14 mm, weight 9.12g.
