Description
English: Emblema with Aphrodite and Eros. Mediterranean, ca. 1st-2nd century A.D. Plaster, Diam. (widest) 4 3/16 in.. Metropolitan Museum of Art. Similar plaster emblema from the Mediteranean were found at the Afghan site of Begram. Such trade goods were particularly important for the transmission of classical motifs and styles.

Des plâtres similaires (pluriel : emblemata) de la Méditerranée ont été trouvés sur le site afghan de Begrâm. Ces biens commerciaux étaient particulièrement importants pour la transmission de motifs et de styles classiques.
