Description
English: Stamped copper-alloy repousse badge dating the later medieval period, 1500 - 1600 AD. The badge is circular and of a thin sheeting. It displays the instruments of Christ's passion (Spencer 1998: 174): these are the cross, crown of thorns, three nails, spear, reed sceptre, the cock that crowed, dice, pillar and scouges, which have a neatly symmetrical arrangement.
