Aphrodisias Museum Zoilos monument part

Summary[edit]

Description
English: I was informed this is the Zoilos corridor, part of a huge monument in honour of Zoilos. Slab 1: Demos (= the people of Aphrodisias), facing Gaius Julius Zoilos (Q113509625), points with his wand to a crown. Slab 2: Zoilos in traveler's outfit. Slab 3: Polis (= the town) holds a crown above Zoilos' head. Slab 4: Zoilos as orator. Time (= Honour) protects or crowns him. Slab 5: Personification of Andreia (= Virtue) with shield. Slab 6: Aion (= Saturnus) as an old man sitting on a rock. The picture was taken in the old museum.
