Brothers Corporation leaves the site, and isexpected to complete the building within twelve months. The only remaining incinerator work not contractedfor is the steam main for transmitting steam, to begenerated by burning refuse at the incenerator, to theBoston City Hospital. Plans and specifications for thiswork will be completed early in 1958. Utilization ofthe waste heat of incineration will provide a saving ofover $150,000 annually in fuel oil costs at the hospital.Additional revenue may be derived from the sale ofsurplus steam to the Boston Edison Company whichhas expressed an interest in this commodity. The undersigned was promoted to the position of Di-vision Engineer of the Sanitary Division on August 6,1957, to fill the vacancy caused by the death of DivisionEngineer, Adolph J. Post, in February, 1956. TheActing Division Engineer in the interim was GeneralSuperintendent Timothy J. OLeary. Respectfully submitted, John F. Flaherty, Division Engineer, Sanitary Division, P. W. D.
