| Description |
English: An ambulance parked outside a dressing station. The dressing station appears to have been set up in the ground floor of a partly demolished building, possibly a mansion or a municipal building as it has quite ornate stairs going up in an arc on either side of the door. The notice above the door is obscured by the Red Cross flag but appears to read, ' Post[e?] Chi..'. The ambulance appears to be a Siddely-Deasy, but unlike some of those used earlier in the war, the front of the cab is closed and more protected. At the beginning of the war, there was no standardisation and there were considerable difficulties in repairing vehicles. Later, the British Red Cross laid down some basic standards. |
