Summary
[edit]DescriptionA 360 degree view of the ELT and its surroundings (elt-huedepohl-aug2023-drone-pano1).jpg |
English: This 360-degree panorama taken in early August 2023 shows ESO’s Extremely Large Telescope (ELT), under construction at Cerro Armazones in Chile. When this picture was taken, the steel frame of the telescope dome was taking shape. When finished, the dome will weigh in at 6100 tonnes, and it will need 30 million bolts to be held together. ESO’s ELT will be a revolutionary ground-based telescope with a 39-metre main mirror. |
