I found it quite hard to make out the inscription on this photo but this has now been transcribed thanks to the detective work of [/photos/ellenmc/ ellenmc], less than 24 hours after posting the image, and the first one in this album to be identified by Flickr users. Norma Robertson McEdward was the daughter of Alexander and Jessie McEdward, of Kew. She died on the 30th November, 1920, at Crows Nest. North Sydney source I can find very little mention of this name on ancestry.co.uk other than some North Sydney street directory entries for a Miss/Mrs N McEdward at 19 Willoughby St. and a family tree which includes five sisters and one brother, but two of the sisters and Norma herself do not have birth dates recorded. A further note on the reverse reads "With Aunt Janet's Love". I wonder who Janet is? Well, thanks to a comment from lilymo1 (see below) it would appear that she is Janet Isabella Mary Black 1863 – 1941, the half-sister of Norma's mother Alexandrina Jessie Laurie. --- One of 140 images from a fascinating album.
