Description"Most unpopular" member of congress. Washington, D.C., Nov. 30. Representative Ralph E. Church, Republican of Illinois, whose persistency in making points of order and objecting to unanimous LCCN2016872681.jpg |
English: Title: "Most unpopular" member of congress. Washington, D.C., Nov. 30. Representative Ralph E. Church, Republican of Illinois, whose persistency in making points of order and objecting to unanimous consent requests for adjournment, has earned him the title of "The Most Unpopular Member". The House recessed on Thanksgiving Day only "by the courtesy of" rep. Church, as House Leader Rayburn put it. Rep. Church says he is determined that, having been called in special session, the solons stick on the job. 11/30/37
