Reason I find to be both: one of the most moving images here, on Commons; and one of the most moving images of WWII. This is where I see its value. It sends a message much stronger then a picture of dozens of dead bodies - I beg your pardon - stacked up without any considerance. And note the backgound: this didn't happen in any city, in any military base or airfield. This was a "field", true - where potatoes were grown.
