Scope Nominated as the most valued image on Commons within the scope:
Antifascist graffiti
Used in Global usage
Reason I hold this image to be the most valuable illustration of Antifascist graffiti for several reasons: First, the symbol that is shown, being a pictographic man throwing a Nazi swastika into a litter bin, is arguably the most intuitively understandable symbol depicting antifascism. It is also the most common antifascist symbol in modern Germany. It can frequently be encountered in daily life, being featured in many graffiti, on stickers, T-shirts and so forth. Thirdly, the many other graffiti and tags around it illustrate its nature and the environments in which it is usually found. Through this position amoung other graffiti, it stands out not only by its colour, but also by being the one political statement amoung many "aimless scribbles". -- MichaelBueker (talk)

Comment I took this photo myself and released it under the CC-BY 3.0 license. As for the red pictograph in the center, there is no information whatsoever about any copyright claims. It has been widely used in Germany for 20 years and is considered to be in the public domain. --MichaelBueker (talk) 12:27, 10 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Support Personally, I like the graphic simplicity of that other image: File:Marburg - Schlosssteig - Synagoge 03 ies.jpg, but I agree with the nominator: the antifascist symbol in the nominated image is widely used and known, and you can understand it even if your are a non-latin alphabet user. The surrounding tags aren't really disturbing here. Do they enhance the main subject? That could be discussed, but at review size the image—and the topic—are clear enough IMO. --Myrabella (talk) 18:44, 12 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
