  •  Comment I understand that Moenkopi is type of village/settlement. I would expect to see some houses, etc. There are houses, but only in the very left corner in the image (I suppose this Moenkopi). Most of the image is taken by some valley, with a shed in very distinctive place. If the scope was the valley, I think everything would be fine. Here I don't understand why this image describes the scope well. --Sfu (talk) 09:26, 31 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The houses in the Indian pueblo style are to be seen on the right side. Moenkopi was founded as a summer farming community. Because of this, the farming area is quite important. --AFBorchert (talk) 18:17, 31 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Oppose In the review size it is not possible for me to see human settlements, which for me does not make it a good illustration of an area with an average population density of more than 200 inhabitants/km2. So for me it does not illustrate the scope well. -- Slaunger (talk) 20:03, 1 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well, you won't get anything closer as it is forbidden to take photographs of Hopi people or Hopi buildings on Hopi land. --AFBorchert (talk) 23:00, 1 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
OK, interesting. I just had a look at Google maps. What was the heading of the camera (could you add that as a heading parameter to the geocode please)? As I see it, if you continue along road 264 you actually pass through Moenkopi. Is it really forbidden to take photos while passing through Moenkopi? -- Slaunger (talk) 08:18, 2 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The Arizona SR 264 does not pass through Moenkopi but by-passes it. If you would follow the SR 264 further to Tuba City, you might see some trailers or so that are closer but you wouldn't get a better picture of the pueoblos nor of the farming area. I've corrected somewhat the geocoding, added a heading to it, and added the farming area to the scope. But in summary, photographs of Hopi settlements are difficult to get as you are restricted to that what you can see from the highways. Other examples (from the very same tour) are here and here. Have fun with finding the actual village in the latter image. --AFBorchert (talk) 09:36, 2 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Neutral The first alternative image you refer to illustrates quite well that it is possible to get much more illustrative images of Hopi settlements. In the second image I do see the settlements, but I agree they are hard to see. I am a bit torn on this review. Your modified scope has helped a little, on the other hand the scope is now so narrow that I begin to doubt it has value for Wikimedia projects. I won't oppose any longer though, so I have changed my vote to neutral and request the opinion of other reviewers. -- Slaunger (talk) 19:56, 2 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
